Over the years, Topsail Island has grown—but in all the best ways. What once was a sleepy beach town with just a handful of dining options is now home to a fantastic variety of locally owned restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite after the beach or a special dinner to celebrate a birthday or vacation milestone, Surf City has something for everyone.
One thing that hasn’t changed? The laid-back, welcoming vibe. You won’t find fast-food chains lining the streets—instead, you’ll discover friendly spots serving fresh, delicious food in true coastal Carolina style.
Here are a few of our go-to favorites to help you eat like a local during your stay:
Lunch & Dinner
- 🐟Sear’s Landing
📍 806 Roland Ave (mainland, right across the Surf City bridge)
Come by car or boat—Sear’s Landing has a dock right out back! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, featuring Southern coastal classics like scallops, shrimp, oysters, and crab. While they don’t take reservations, you can grab a drink at the bar and relax on the back porch in rocking chairs while you wait. The view of the Intracoastal is worth it! - 🌮Shaka Taco
📍 107 N Shore Drive, Surf City
A Surf City favorite since 2018, Shaka Taco serves fresh tacos with fish, chicken, pork, or beef, plus beer and wine. It’s a casual spot with a walk-up window and outdoor seating on the covered deck and patio—perfect for sandy feet and post-beach cravings. No indoor dining, but all the sunshine and ocean breeze you could want. - 🍽️Beauchaine’s 211
📍 211 S Topsail Drive, Surf City
Looking for a more upscale option? Beauchaine’s 211 is your go-to for “casual fine dining.” With sound and bridge views from the upstairs dining room, it’s a wonderful spot for a date night or celebration. The menu includes Filet of Beef Fondue, Pistachio Salmon, and other creative dishes from Executive Chef Dave Garnett. Reservations are recommended. - 🍷UnWINED
📍 114 N Topsail Drive, Surf City
A relaxed hangout with a large deck, live music, and a fun atmosphere. UnWINED offers a great selection of wine, beer, and snacks—like charcuterie, paninis, dips, and pizzas (with gluten-free options!). It’s a perfect place to kick back and unwind after a day on the beach. - 🍦Island Delights
📍 316 N New River Drive, Surf City
Step back in time at this 1950s-style diner and ice cream bar, serving burgers, chili cheese fries, and hand-dipped ice cream. Island Delights has been a Surf City staple since the early ‘90s. With jukeboxes and retro decor, it’s a hit with kids and nostalgic adults alike. - 🌊Daddy Mac’s
📍 108 N Shore Drive, oceanfront near the Surf City Pier
One of the best oceanfront dining spots in town. Enjoy lunch, dinner, or Sunday brunch with unbeatable views. The menu features coastal favorites like Shrimp ‘n’ Grits, crab dip, steaks, and cocktails. Indoor and outdoor seating available, plus vegetarian, gluten-free, and kids’ menus. - 🍔SurfDog Bites & Brews
📍 204 N New River Drive, Surf City (Treasure Coast Square)
Don’t let the name fool you—SurfDog offers way more than hot dogs. This family-owned gem serves burgers, wings, rice bowls, grilled fish, steak, and more. It’s casual, delicious, and great for families, with both indoor and outdoor seating. - 🍕Margherita Pizza Co
